The Ashley Hutchings Story

Special Offer: all 4 CDs + Book £16

CDs: Ashley's Almanac, Dance and Drama, Authored by Ashley, Trad: arr. Hutchings,
Also Included: The Ashley Hutchings Story,

This set is now offered as 4CD + Book as it is simply not possible to re-print small quantities of our splendid outer boxes to create new stocks, without having the prices of the sets to zoom up to around £40.

Our first 2005 Release was this major career-retrospective and celebration of the life and music of Ashley Hutchings, the "Godfather of Folk-Rock" ! Released for his 60th Birthday, the lavish Box-set features four full length themed and bookletted CDs, huge full colour book and rare picture archive.

Though oft compiled, the massive and complex output of Ashley Hutchings has never been considered in its entirety until now. For the first time, Free Reed brings together a complete career overview from his first professional group Fairport Convention to Rainbow Chasers, his latest band.

Here are the classic recordings, the rare album tracks and the unreleased gems from Ashley's own archive that, in over 90 tracks, together show just why he truly us both the Godfather and the Guv'nor of Folk-Rock.

It's a tribute that all fans of Ashley Hutchings and his music will treasure! This glorious celebration...

  • Offers the very first complete overview of Ashley's career
  • Includes all the classic and crucial tracks, many both rare and previously un-released
  • Includes a wealth of previously unavailable tracks - genuine rarities!
  • Has a companion 136-page full colour Book featuring many unseen pictures from his long career, with a superb career overview and fine track-notes by folk-historian and archivist Nigel Schofield
  • Was put together with Ashley's approval and extensive co-operation, including unprecedented access to his archives of early demos, out-takes, stage and concert recordings, and recent work-in progress
