"Yet more classic CD archives of the British Folk & Folk Rock Revival"

The next set from the 18-CD series of Archive releases from the FREE REED label!!

The second six re-releases, on enhanced CDs, of the Free Reed archives of classic recordings of the folk revival is now released

In celebration of its first thirty years, the mighty little Free Reed label is now making available all of its classic LP recordings from the 1970s and early 1980s as remastered and enhanced CDs, with extra historic tracks and video cuts.

The Free Reed label is of course widely acknowledged as today's definitive Box-Set label for its lavish "Revival Masters" folk and folk-rock sets: these have featured the life and music of Martin Carthy, Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention, Dave Swarbrick, Ashley Hutchings, Peter Bellamy and Robin & Barry Dransfield.

However, the label's early roster of over 25 vinyl LPs, released during 1976 - 1981, has now come to be regarded as a remarkable (and highly collectable) time capsule of that seminal period of the late '70s British Folk Revival, and are a treasure trove of the traditional musicians, of the 'new faces' in their early days, and of today's legends of folk music (including Old Swan Band, Roaring Jelly, Bernie Parry - and include classic folk-rock albums from the likes of John Kirkpatrick, Robin & Barry Dransfield, and Peter Bellamy) who made their first or early appearances on a Free Reed LP.

The original recordings - with many bonus tracks from the original recording sessions, and some with historic video clips - will form an iconic 18-CD shelf-cased set, and during 2007, the CDs will be released in batches of 6 releases across the coming months, with the second group of 6 CDs due 31st March 2008.

The limited edition Shelf-Case for the 18-CD set is sent free to all purchasers of the six CDs of the first, second or third group of releases: The new set of six CDs are listed below!

'Series Two' The 2nd set of the Revival re:Masters CD Archives, released on 31st March
